Owner/ Master Haircutting Specialist

Hillary is originally from the beautiful State of Oregon, in the United States.

From the start, at the age when she could grasp a crayon, Hillary had a passion for creating art.

After graduating high school, she was accepted to the Pacific Northwest College of Arts, in Portland, Oregon. She wanted to become a painter.

 About a year later, after classes of 3.D. Design, Art History, Acrylic Painting, Art Literature, Live Life Drawing, and exploring the world of art, Hillary discovered that many of the artists (both pre and post graduation) were so talented, but struggling. She didn’t want to become just another cliché of the “starving artist”.

Hair, she decided, was a fabric. A fabric that could act as both the frame and the canvas, and the art, simultaneously. And designing looks from this fabric required all of the same elements and principles that apply to art: Color, Texture, Shape, Dimension, Symmetry, Asymmetry, and Balance.

 After graduating beauty school, Hillary was lucky enough to become a protégé of a brilliant hairdresser. She completed a one year intense apprenticeship with him. She loved hair cutting, and that was her focus. Her mentor taught Hillary precision haircutting, for the foundation of her skills, and later introduced trendier techniques which she could streamline together. To this day, Hillary continues to update her skills, looking for more ways to add more knowledge to her repertoire. She has attended many advanced training seminars from Manhattan, New York to Budapest, Hungary.

A strong believer in education, Hillary also wants to encourage and inspire her hair team to always be hungry for knowledge. Investing into the hair team is extremely important at Glow.  The objective is to send three Glow stylists for advanced training at least twice a year, to Europe. These six stylists will attend intense classes and seminars, learning new techniques and the latest trends, especially focusing on the spring/summer and fall/winter hair collections. Upon returning from the trip, the stylists who participated will share what they learned with the entire Glow hair team. This ensures you, our valued client, that any stylist you see at Glow has had the most up to date training, and knows the trends before they hit the mainstream.

Today, Hillary enjoys being a devoted businesswoman and entrepreneur. She is passionate about her business. She, and her husband Mike together founded Glow in 2007, and together they work as a team and strive to constantly grow and improve the business.  Hillary has been named by the media a “pioneer in her field” for introducing new talents, concepts, philosophies, and techniques to the Middle East. Hillary is so proud that Glow is home to some extremely talented hair stylists, and her vision is to continue to collect talent from all over the world.

 Most importantly, she genuinely cares for, and appreciates, her loyal clients. If it wasn’t for them, this dream would not be possible.

When not at Glow, Hillary enjoys spending time with her husband, riding horses, traveling and exploring foreign countries, and eating good food (usually her husband’s delicious creations!). 

Colorist, Brazilian Blowout Master, Up-style Specialist

Nemo is originally from Lebanon

A stylist since 1997, Nemo has had extensive training with western hair. She has worked in top salons in Lebanon and Dubai, before coming to Doha to join Glow’s team.

Client’s who have visited Nemo’s chair for their hair have crowned her with the nickname “Magic hands” for her finishing work of blow-dry styles.

Her color is certainly sensational, as well. Her work is a reflection of the fact that she has experience and training with all hair types from the light, fine European hair, to the thick, dark and course Arabic hair, and everything in-between. She knows how to bring out the best in everyone.

With a combination of a spicy personality, yet a calm and relaxed approach, attention to detail combined with technical ability, a flair for making you look your best, a contagious smile, and those magic hands… Nemo makes her clients shine bright!

In addition- she is an up-style artist! If you have a formal event, are going out on the town, or even just want your hair whipped up for fun- you ought to try her. You may not remember the last time you felt so glamorous, Nemo is phenomenal with up-hair.

When not at Glow, Nemo enjoys B.B.Q’s on the beach, baking (and eating) chocolate cake, socializing, watching action flicks at the theatre.

Color Education Director at Glow

Master Colorist/Cutting Specialist/Curl Guru

Niki has been a hair artisan for over 15 years. She began her career in Arizona, and re-located to Manhattan, NY in the mid 90’s. She remained in Manhattan until re-locating to Doha to join Glow’s team.

 Niki has been an educator for some of the world’s leading hair color companies. Her knowledge of chemistry has earned her the title of Color Director at Glow, and she does our in-house color training.

Her professional confidence is evidenced in her personal philosophy of “telling it like it is.” This is a unique and refreshing stance in the sometimes hedonistic and often self-serving world of professional beauty.

Niki is eager to educate clients about their hair options, strives to give sound advice and straight forward information.

 Niki is a very skilled hair cutting specialist, but her true passion lies in hair color. She specializes in an infinite amount of different coloring techniques, one of many being the “Pintura”- a Portuguese name for masterpiece. Pintura is a more refined and sophisticated method of the hand-painting technique commonly known as baliage. The most interesting of her coloring techniques when doing highlighting, is that she rarely uses foils. She uses bio-degradable papers instead. The results are natural and seamless.

As well as cutting and coloring, Niki prides herself on being a curly hair specialist. Following in the footsteps of her curly expert mentors who she learned from, in the trendy SoHo neighborhood of NY, she wants to help you develop a pro-curl attitude, realize your curl potential, and celebrate your curls. Having curly hair herself, she understands your struggles and your curl confusion. This method of working with curly hair is revolutionary and completely different than your main-stream “Just scrunch with a diffuser”. Allow her to educate you on everything you never knew about your waves and curls. It just might change your life!

Colorist,  Brazilian Blowout Master, Up-style Specialist

 Kaila is originally from Lebanon. 

She is highly trained to work with European hair, which requires knowledge and a delicate touch. As a stylist who has been hairdressing since 1996, Kaila has a passion for making people look and feel beautiful. When she first began her career in the hair industry, she chose the route to focus and specialize in hair color. She takes great interest in keeping her coloring skills sharp. She has taken advanced training courses throughout different countries of the world. One of her favorites was a one and a half month course at the Tony & Guy academy in Cyprus.

She loves working with all different hair types, including Arabic and European hair, and is trained to know how to bring out the best in both. Through her training and experience she has gained a keen eye for the art of color design.

In the salon, Kaila strives to create an environment in which her clients are at ease to express themselves and their ideas. She is sensitive to the needs of her clients, and is dedicated to giving the best of herself to each one. In Kailas hands, clients don’t feel rushed. One of Kailas best professional attributes is the fact that she is genuinely concerned about the condition of her client’s hair. You can count on Kaila to look out for the best interest and integrity of your hair.

In addition to being a color specialist, Kaila is also a hair up and blow out artist. Her up styles and blow outs are always glamorous, and always receive a “wow!”.

Kaila also enjoys giving the Brazilian Blowout service.

She lives to hear “I love my hair!” Music to Kaila’s ears.

In her free time, Kaila likes reading, shopping, walking, and hanging out at the swimming pool.

Cutting and Up-style Specialist

Rosa is originally from Norway, Europe.

 She had been living in Los Angeles, California for two years, working at a trendy salon near the beach in Santa Monica. She has re-located from L.A. to join the Glow team. (And deciding to re-locate to Doha was no small thing – she loved California, and enjoyed roller-blading on the boardwalks by the sea during her lunch break. But we are so happy she gave up all of that in exchange for an opportunity to work at Glow!)

 Rosa has been in the hair industry since 2001.

 She began the foundation of her training in Norway. She worked and received advanced trained at Norwegian salons for the first five years of her career. Following that, she worked on a cruise ship that traveled between Norway and Denmark. After receiving her green card for the U.S., she followed her dream of working and living in California.

 Rosa is the first to admit that she is always seeking new challenges in life, and in her career. She is positive and motivated, energetic and full of life. Thus, she is very passionate about the hair industry, her work, and her clients.

To Rosa, sculpting hair is an art, and she is an artist who looks at every new head of hair like a blank canvas. Even if you have been to her a thousand times, she will never assume she knows what you want as she understands that people are always evolving, and encourages a new look (or at least a up-dated tweak to your look) to reflect where you are at in your life. She approaches each client before the cut with the respect that each person and their hair is unique. While she appreciates working with all lengths of hair, Rosa believes that short haircuts are one of her biggest strengths. She loves the detail that goes into them. Rosa is always busy in the salon. This is probably due to the fact that her clients find comfort in her calm, steady manner. She is sensitive to her clients needs and requests. She wants her clients to receive a complete professional experience from start to finish. She is precise and calculating in her cuts, and takes the time to check each one after it is dry, as she wants them to grow out nicely. Rosa is rewarded by all of her careful efforts upon hearing: “that is exactly what I wanted!”.

Lucy is originally from New Zealand.

 From the start of her career in 1993, Lucy has had an impressive journey to become the talented hairdresser she is today.

After finishing college, she decided a career doing something artistic would be perfect. Hairdressing was an easy decision for her.

She trained under one of the best hairdressers in New Zealand, and during her three year apprenticeship, this mentor inspired and pushed Lucy to her limit, and rarely let her rest.

Lucy has worked and trained in London, England, and other areas in the U.K., Australia, Italy, other parts of Europe, Turkey,  and Egypt , and as an effect, enjoys a broad frame of reference of hairdressing skills and inspiration from which to draw upon. Lucy says that working and training while traveling has been a very enlightening experience. She has met some incredible people and has worked with some very outrageous stylists in Europe who have influenced- and challenged- her ideals in hairdressing, and introduced her to different ways to work with colors and new cutting techniques. This gave her the drive to work for a top salon in London to learn and gain more knowledge, and that is just what she did.

Cutting, coloring, and styling hair up are what she excels at. As a well-rounded hairstylist, Lucy is keen to please every type of client imaginable, from the contemporary classic to the funky avant-garde. Lucy wants to gain her clients trust so that given the opportunity, she can help clients edge slightly out of their comfort zones. Often times, clients can get stuck in a rut, but leave it to Lucy to encourage them out of their rut and refresh their look. Lucy knows it is up to the stylist to make sure the client looks and feels amazing so that they want to come back.

Lucy is an outgoing individual whose artistic skills and creative nature have made her work so rewarding for her. Her enthusiasm for what is ‘now’ has always helped her to stay current and ahead of the game. She loves fashion and clothes and is always studying the latest styles from London and Paris. This gives her the drive and energy to motivate her clients to keep current as well.

A big believer in investing into advanced education for herself and keeping her skills strong and sharp, she has attended many seminars and classes. She has also been an educator to the next generation of stylists, training at independent schools as well as mentoring at trendy salons specializing in competition standard hairdressing.

In her spare time, Lucy enjoys designing her own clothes, experimenting with food from around the world to create exciting cuisine when entertaining friends, tennis, and water-sports.

Cutting, Coloring and Up-style Specialist

Louise is originally from England.

Deeply inspired by her idol, the legendary Vidal Sassoon, Louise admires his passion and drive for success, and his ability to think outside the box but always use a classic style as the building block in his work. Her favorite quote from Vidal is “the only place where success comes before work is in the dictionary.” And we do consider Louise a success. She believes in herself, and has worked hard to develop and fine-tune her skills. Throughout her career she has learned that versatility is imperative in providing a beautiful hair cut, one that not only she is proud of, but most importantly her client is proud to wear.

Cutting, coloring, and hair up styling is what Louise offers, and she is very excited to take on the path in her career as a member of the Glow team, and serve the fabulous Glow clientele.

A hairdresser since 2004, Louise began her career as a full time apprentice in a prestigious salon in Coventry, United Kingdom. She has achieved levels one, two and three. To date, Louise has attended many seminars at the Schwarzopf ASK academy in London, took part in a national competition with Schwarzkopf, has attended master colour seminars throughout the U.K., has been to Schwarzkopf Essential Looks many times, as well as Redken RAP, and makes it a must to attend Salon International in England every year. She does not want to become complacent, and so has been pro-active in staying up to date. Hairdressing is ever changing and therefore wants to provide her clients with fashionable, on trend styles- she always stays ones step ahead.

Says Louise, “I absolutely love every aspect of my job. I love getting to know my clients, and the sense of achievement you get when a client leaves the salon transformed and uplifted, feeling happier than when they arrived, and confident in you as a hairdresser. Hairdressing I believe is the fore front of the fashion industry. It continually changes and evolves. I feel very proud to be a part of this industry. I am excited to be working amongst a team that feels just as passionate about the industry as I do.”

In her spare time, Louise enjoy’s taking inspiration from everything and everyone in Doha, and loves getting to experience a new culture. And of course, visiting the amazing shopping malls!

Natalie is originally from England

Natalie has been a stylist since 2000. She trained at a top salon in London

Creativity is her middle name (ok, not really. But it should be!). This confident and versatile stylist cuts, colors, styles, and hair obediently follows her command.

A master of her craft, Natalie is a fabulous hairdresser, has a rich background of experience on which to draw upon. When designing hair, she looks to inspiration from fashion, celebs, what’s new on the catwalk, and then she takes that inspiration and translates it into an everyday image for the client to wear.

The process she works through for each client is a joy to witness. She listens to the client through relaxed in-depth consultations, taps into her creative vision to customize the look, is calculating and precise when executing her techniques, and the finished results are glamorous.

Natalie is constantly learning innovative methods to push the boundaries of modern hair design. Her favorite experience was a creative exchange seminar in Dublin where she was able to showcase her skills to other hairdressers, and learn contemporary techniques from others as well. But recently, Natalie traveled to Central America. After spending time with the indigenous native people, they taught her that sometimes you need to go back to the basics. Sometimes the basics can be much more effective in life- and in hair.

Natalie has a commitment to the hair industry, and her ambition to rise to the top has propelled her career forward with remarkable speed. She has earned coaching and teaching qualifications, and has made an impact on the industry with her contributions of sharing her knowledge, and training apprentices.   Before embarking on her move to Doha to work at Glow, Natalie was not only a senior stylist, but a mentor and educator for other young professional stylists breaking into the world of hair in England.

Apart from working at Glow, Natalie enjoys chilling out with friends, eating good food and salsa dancing.

Sarah is originally from England

Having built up experience in London salons since 2005, Sarah is excited to take on a new challenge by moving to Doha to work at Glow. She is trained in NVQ levels 1,2 and 3. During her level 3, she won an award for best advanced apprentice out of 200 other people.

Sarah merges fashion and hair with a youthful vitality; her areas of expertise include cutting, coloring, styling, hair up styling, and weft hair extensions.

Her sincere intention is to help ease her clients through the cut, color, and style changes they need for both the lifestyle they embrace and the look they desire. And open communication is the first step she takes on that journey. Sarah believes the consultation is one of the most important parts of her time with you. She wants to know exactly what you want and don’t want out of your hair service, and she wants you to feel confident that she is going to give you exactly that.

With a passion for fashion, and a deep appreciation of how fashion and hair relate, Sarah looks forward to submerging herself in the thriving fashion culture of Doha. Traveling to many different countries has shaped Sarah’s understanding of how different cultures play a part in influencing hair styles and trends.

Sarah’s clients boast that she is the best new stylist in Doha, making her the stylist of choice for many savvy Doha-ites.

In her free time, Sarah’s interests are modeling, the gym, and socializing with friends.

Lisa is originally from Scotland.
A hairdresser since 2002.

Lisa has worked in high end salons in Scotland, Australia, and London.

Lisa talks about why she liked living and working in different areas of the world: “Traveling and working abroad broadens your own perspectives which in turn opens your eyes to a whole new approach to hair styling. Whilst living and working in London I was aware of the strong influence of street style and the fashion industry workers who dictated what was cutting edge in hair and fashion. While in Australia I became very aware of the editorial work, shoots, shows, magazines.”

 She is a highly motivated individual who takes hair seriously, but you will love her down to earth personality. Lisa is easy to talk to, and most importantly- she listens! “I am a very attentive stylist. I like to sit down with my client at length to discuss their wants and needs and how to achieve it. I want the client to feel confident that we are on the same page and going in the same direction before we take on any service. I like to make people feel fabulous; it’s not just about their hair looking amazing. I want them to feel like they’ve had a fantastic experience”

A well rounded stylist, Lisa works with all aspects of hair cutting, coloring, and styling. Lisa has that unique ability to blend innovation with classic designs. She has worked with many color lines including Schwarzkopf, Wella, Label M, Shiseido, Kerastase, Loreal and Shu Eumura to name a few.

Favorite moments in her career were spent in London working at the famous Tony and Guy, the UK Flagship salon location, and had also really enjoyed advanced training in Melbourne, Australia at the Kevin Murphy Academy. At this high end academy, she especially enjoyed classes where she was taught smooth and textured foundations which bring seasoned hairdressers back to the basics. She attended foundation classes for creating contemporary looks, which results in well-executed skills that consist of clean lines, well positioned brush and tool work, and a finish that lasts and looks fabulous.

Attention to detail, honesty, patience, creativity and hard work all functioning together to produce a beautiful end result for her clients.

In her free time, Lisa indulges her love for music. She attends live gigs and enjoys being a DJ. Traveling and socializing with friends keep her busy as well.
